NUDO youth league calls for constitutional amendment to prevent convicts standing for Parliament

The National Unity Democratic Organisation's (NUDO) Youth League has called for the amendment of article 47 of the Constitution, which deals with disqualification of a person as a member of the National Assembly.
The youth league wants the clause to be amendened to prohibit convicts, who are given the option of a fine, not to be allowed to stand as members of Parliament.
