Omaheke Governor Pijoo Nganate delivers first SORA

Omaheke Regional Governor Pijoo Nganate, delivered his maiden State of the Region address in the regions capital Gobabis, under the theme 'Growing Omaheke through innovation and enhancement of agro-value chain potential'.
Marking exactly 103 days in office, Nganate believes innovation is the solution to the region's development challenges therefore his office established the "Ö-Space", a centre to promote new innovative ideas starting with training on meat production next week.
In his address, Nganate calls for effective service delivery to address the needs and the cries from the community members.
The Omaheke Governor reckons that its only through the hard work of civil servants, that the dignity of the people will be maintained.
Looking at land delivery, Nganate applauded the Gobabis Municipal Council for providing land to the inhabitants of the town adding that the illegal occupants of municipal land will be engaged for relocation.
Remaining with land related matters, Nganate expressed gratitude to council for preparing plots that will be on sale within the next three months.
He revealed that similar plots are available throughout the other towns in the region, comprising residential, industrial, general industrial and institutional plots.
In terms of the prevailing challenges on COVID-19, Nganate says the region has put up a temporary truck port, and a newly built isolation facility furnished with eight beds to manage any COVID-19 related cases.
Nganate pledged to the inhabitants of the region that he will undertake a performance review to assess as to whether all projects indicated in his address are implemented as promised.
The regional political head, advised civil servants to embrace a people-centred governance approach which is based on the principle of "for the people by the people".
