Operations have resumed at the Eye Clinic at Windhoek Central Hospital.
The Ministry of Health and Social Services has secured affordable medicines for the clinic through the Government's Central Medical Stores.
Following a donation of N$100 000 by Ombaye Fishing Company the ministry is now in a position to procure critical clinical supplies and pharmaceuticals.
The ministry says it has also initiated a direct procurement procedure for the purchase of critical equipment and instruments needed to normalise the operations at the Eye Clinic.
The equipment will be delivered before the end of this month.
Operations at the clinic were curtailed a week ago due to a shortage of certain medications, supplies and equipment.
The clinic could only attended to emergency eye care patients.
