Four Namibian medical doctors have joined the medical staff at the Opuwo District Hospital in the Kunene Region.
This was confirmed to Nampa by the Ministry of Health and Social Services' spokesperson, Manga Libita, bringing the number of doctors from two to six.
Kunene Governor, Marius Sheya told Nampa that the appointments will not only reduce the long queues experienced at the hospital but will also improve service delivery, which has been making headlines for the wrong reasons in the past.
Councillor of the Opuwo Rural Constituency, Kazeongere Tjeundo said that the appointment has come at the right time as the long queues experienced there due to a shortage of medical staff have claimed lives in the past.
