Oranjemund Town Council signs MoU with OMDis Town Transformation Agency

The Oranjemund Town Council signed a memorandum of understanding with OMDis Town Transformation Agency for the economic transformation of the town.
The signing ceremony was witnessed at council chambers today by the Mayor of Oranjemund, Henry Coetzee, chairperson of the management committee, councillor Toivo Auala, chief executive officer, Shali Akwaanyenga and general manager of OMDis, Tony Bessinger.
The agreement outlines the nature of the partnership between OTC and OMDis.
The agreement aims to encourage and promote smart partnership between the public and private sector investments for the benefit of the local economy, and to ensure that total economic transformation is realised.
Mayor Coetzee at the occasion said the main goal of the MoU is to promote and create an enabling environment for the sustainable development of new industries and SMEs, while at the same time offering incentives to both existing and new businesses through council property and investment policies.
OMDis was established to enable economic diversification in Oranjemund.
