Oshakati East Councillor dies

Oshakati East Constituency Councilor Lotto Kuushomwa had died at the age of 59.
Lotto Kuushomwa died on Monday after collapsing in the National Council chambers.
Kuushomwa is reported to have collapsed Monday morning during the National Council chamber session in Windhoek.
He was rushed to hospital where he died at the Roman Catholic hospital.
Kuushomwa joined Swapo in 1978 at Otjiwarongo and until 1980 worked as underground officer of People's Liberation Army of Namibia (PLAN) in Otjiwarongo and the northern parts of the country.
He went into exile in 1980 via Angola where he received military training at Tobias Hainyeko TRaining Center.
In August 1989 he was repatriated back to Namibia under Resolution 435 of the United Nations.
In 2015 he became one of the three members of Parliament at National Council representing the Oshana Region until his death.
Swapo Regional Coordinator for Oshana Samuel Nelongo described him as a freedom fighter, community leader who contributed immensely to the development of his constituency and the Oshana Region in particular.
