PDM contemplates ECN court challenge

The Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) is contemplating approaching the courts to challenge the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) on a number of electoral matters.
Its president, McHenry Venaani told a media briefing in Windhoek that the ECN did not conduct itself with integrity and transparency during the just-ended elections.
Venaani singled out issues of EVMs operating without a verifiable paper trail, unfair treatment of opposition parties by ECN, amongst others, which are of concern to PDM.
In terms of EVMs, PDM plans to work with other opposition parties to challenge the ECN soon.
He further lambasted some analysts who he described as not having the necessary expertise.
The analysts, Venaani says, criticised the rebranding exercise of his party, a process he said has worked well resulting in the increase in seats.
He then announced his 15-member shadow cabinet who he urged to be accountable in their services to Namibians.
