Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) president, McHenry Venaani says his party will not support another extension of the state of emergency. Venaani says many people have lost jobs and small businesses have closed down during this state of emergency.
He further accused President Hage Geingob's administration of failing to control the spread of COVID-19.
He says his party will vote against any motion to extend the current state of emergency, which is to end on 17 September.
Extending the state of emergency and the current lockdown during an election season is also not a good idea, says the leader of the official opposition.
