Police arrest two Salini Namibia employees

Police at Keetmanshoop in the //Karas Region have arrested two of Salini Namibia's striking workers.

One could be charged for drunken driving and the other for meddling with police in the execution of their duties.

Confirming the arrests, //Karas Police Commander Johannes Tsuseb said the two were expected to appear in court on Friday.

He explained that the two arrived in a BMW vehicle and disobeyed police orders to stop.

Police officers suspected that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and called in traffic officers to deal with the case.

Salini is constructing the N$ 2 billion Neckerdal Dam outside Keetmanshoop.
