President Hage Geingob has issued a message of congratulations to Yoshihide Suga, who assumed the role of Japan's 99th Prime Minister, on 16 September.
Namibia, Geingob said, views Japan as an integral partner in the pursuit of global peace and stability, and said he looked forward to continuing the cordial working relationship established between the two nations, during the tenure of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
Abe, the longest-serving Prime Minister of Japan to date, announced his resignation from the position in August, citing health reasons.
President Geingob wished the Asian nation's new leader good health and strength in assuming his responsibilities, and the Japanese people continued economic prosperity and wellbeing, under his leadership.
