President Geingob invites China's Communist Party to observe SWAPO's sixth Congress

President Hage Geingob has invited the Communist Party of China to send representatives as observers to SWAPO's sixth Congress from 23 to 26 November.
In a congratulatory message to the Communist Party of China's 19th National Congress, currently underway, President Geingob said that Namibia will forever cherish its warm relations with the party.
These relations date back to pre-independence era when the Chinese offered material support to the Namibians and according to the Namibian leader, has heralded a new era of government to government cooperation.
China was among the first countries to establish diplomatic mission in Namibia, opening doors for trade and technology transfer both at government and party levels, he said.
The Chinese Communist party congress opened in Beijing, with President Xi Jinping urging for China to take centre stage in world affairs.
The congress would determine who will rule China and the country's direction for the next five years.
