President Geingob meets with Prince William

President Hage Geingob held discussions with the Duke of Cambridge, Prince William, at Buckingham Palace in London on Wednesday.
The meeting took place behind closed doors ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of State and Government Meeting on Thursday.
The specific details of the talks are yet to be shared with the media but according to Namibia's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and Ireland, Steve Katjiuanjo, they centred on areas of mutual interest between Namibia and the United Kingdom.
Wildlife conservation is one such area as the UK banned trade in ivory, a move that saw conservationists hailing Prince William for being at the forefront.
Until two weeks ago, carved ivory could be sold in the UK while the trade in raw ivory was banned.
However, the new ban is much wider and only exempts musical instruments containing a small percentage of ivory, some antiques, and museum objects.
This could be viewed as a positive step by conservationists in Namibia and other African countries facing poaching of their elephants.
