President Geingob urges Swapo members to be vigilant

Swapo President Hage Geingob has the party's 2019 Electoral College with a call for unity within the political movement.
Geingob appealed to the delegates to uphold the party principles of unity and democracy which it brought to Namibia at independence.
He called on those who will be elected to the National Assembly (NA) to promote good governance, tranparency and accountability as they serve the Namibian nation.
The Swapo President further stressed that those elected should know that they are not elected as individuals, but by and for the party and should live as such.
President Geingob said opposition parties, the media and civil society groups have tried to bring the party down while the courts are slowly being brought into politics and that members should be vigilant.
He revealed the party will soon launch its manifesto and called on those who will be elected to start campaigning for the party for the November general elections to ensure victory.
What is commonly know as the pot will elect 96 delegates to represent the party in the National Assembly next year.
