Prime Minister receives remains from Germany

Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila received the remains of 27 victims of the Ovaherero/Nama 1904 to 1908 genocide.
The return of the remains was observed by a Namibian Defence Force parade in honour of the fallen Namibians.
Kuugongelwa Amadhila says this is a healing process in progress for Namibians whose ancestors were exterminated and whose remains were abducted to a foreign land without dignity.
She added that, this is a historic moment for Namibians, but also a chance for fallen heroes to finally be united with the land of their birth with dignity.
This is the third repatriation of the Namibian skulls from the Federal Republic of Germany.
Germany's State Minister for Cultural Affairs and Africa and Deputy Foreign Minister Michelle Müntefering and that country's Ambassador to Namibia, Christian Schlaga accompanied the remains, with the Namibian delegation led by the Minister of Education Katrina Hanse-Himarwa.
