Recklessness in Windhoek causes increase in COVID-19 cases

COVID-19 infections are on the increase in Windhoek, with over 70 cases reported today alone.
Despite the infection rate, some residents awaiting test results are still not observing the protocols aimed at suppressing the spread of the Coronavirus.
Some Windhoek residents, suspected of being infected are still frequenting entertainment hubs and attending house parties.
Executive Director in the Ministry of Health, Ben Nangombe says, that type of behaviour is highly irresponsible.
Nangombe says it is worrying that some people, who may have come into contact with confirmed cases are still going around socialising, without knowing their status after they were swabbed.
Nangombe says the Ministry of Health is discouraging such behaviour.
He says reckless conduct needs to stop if Namibia wants to curb the spread of the virus.
