Security guards robbed at gunpoint at Black Chain shopping centre

A case of robbery with aggravating circumstances has been reported today at Katutura.
The robbery occurred at Black Chain shopping centre situated at the corner of Independence Avenue and Klemence Kapuuo Street, Katutura.
The incident occurred at 11h49.
It is alleged that about seven or eight men armed with pistols held two Southern Cross Security Services guards, a driver and his crewman at gunpoint while they were loading boxes of money that they collected from Pick 'n Pay, Katutura at that point.
The suspects allegedly overpowered them and drove away with all the money that was in the armoured vehicle.
The stolen money was collected from various business premises around Windhoek.
The suspects loaded the stolen boxes of money into a Volkswagen Polo hatchback and drove away.
A silver Toyota Hilux single cab bakkie with a fake number plate N125-050W was spotted aiding the suspects in the Polo to flee the scene.
The amount of stolen money is yet to be determined.
No arrest has been made yet.
The public is requested to come forth with any information that could help the police in the investigation.
