Several main roads have been temporarily closed due to damage during the recent good rains, in some parts of the country.
The Keetmanshoop-Aroab is closed because Stampriet and Guruchab Rivers have flooded it, causing extensive damage to the sections near the river bridges.
The Warmfontein road from Keetmanshoop to Aroab is also damaged, but still open to traffic with caution.
Other roads that are closed include the Keetmanshoop-Mariental, via Vaalgras, Keetmanshoop-Berseba, Gobabis district road in the Aminuis area, and the Khomas Hochland road.
The Roads Authority will continue to inspect and assess the condition of the roads and erect warning signs at damaged sections where possible.
