State of Emergency will NOT be extended - President Geingob

President Hage Geingob announced this afternoon that the state of emergency that was declared on 17 March 2020 to manage the pandemic will not be extended upon its expiry midnight today, 17 September 2020.
New regulations will be issued to guide public conduct going forward.
The President said the Government will monitor the situation for 14 days to determine the way forward under new regulations.
Geingob said the economy has been affected, the virus is deadly but we are also aware that poverty kills.
He said there is a possibility of a second wave and we are not out of the woods yet.
He, therefore, urged the nation to exercise maximum personal responsibility and vigilance.
