Students demonstrate over NSFAF funding

Traffic on John Meinert Street, Hosea Kutako and Erosweg are jammed as hundreds of students took over these streets in a peaceful demonstration.
The students will hand over a petition to the Namibian Student Financial Assistance Fund (NSFAF) and proceed to the Ministry of Higher Education where they will also hand over their petition.
The demonstration comes after 12 000 students' loan applications were allegedly rejected by NSFAF.
They are demanding that government prioritise education before anything else.
Students from Oshana and Nkurenkuru are also demonstrating at their respective regions in what has been pronounced as a countrywide NASFAF-Ministry of Higher Education shut down.
The students have vowed not leave the premises of the two institutions until satisfactory answers are provided to them.
