Suspect arrested for attempted bribery of Fishrot investigator

A man who was arrested on charges of attempting to bribe one of the investigating officers of the Fishrot scandal is set to appear in court on Wednesday, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) said on Tuesday.
The Director of the ACC, Paulus Noa, told NAMPA on Tuesday that the suspect attempted to bribe the investigating officer on Monday night.
The suspect was allegedly trying to gain access to the bank cards of the trial awaiting Fishrot six.
Noah added that ACC set up a sting operation and apprehended the suspect, who is now set to be added to the list of people involved in the scandal.
The Fishrot Six involves former Justice Minister, Sacky Shanghala, former Fisheries Minister, Bernhardt Esau and co-accused James Hatuikulipi, Tamson Hatuikulipi, Ricardo Gustavo and Pius Mwatelulo.
The six were arrested for their alleged involvement in bribes amounting to more than N$150 million.
