Suspect in Otjimbingwe murder, kidnap case arrested at Rundu

A 22-year-old man, accused of killing his employer, kidnapped his employer's wife and rolled a car he had stolen from the farm, before going on the run, was was arrested Monday afternoon at Rundu, Kavango East.
The Namibian Police in Erongo say the deceased and his wife were visiting the farm for the weekend, when they were attacked.
The suspect allegedly approached the wife of late Hendrik Coetzee, asking for a firearm on Saturday evening.
When she allegedly replied that there were no firearms, the suspect allegedly ransacked the house, found an axe and attacked the 59-year-old Coetzee.
He then loaded some items onto the deceased's bakkie, forced the deceased's wife into the vehicle and drove off at about twelve-that night.
The suspect rolled the car 35-kilometres from Otjimbingwe, and has since been on the run.
The deceased's next of kin have been informed.
A case of murder, theft of a motor vehicle and kidnapping has been opened against him.
He will appear at the Rundu Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, and will thereafter be taken to Karibib.
