Swapo extraordinary congress slated for 30 November to 1 December

Swapo secretary general (SG) Sophia Shaningwa on Tuesday announced that the party will hold its extraordinary congress, as decided at last year's congress, from 30 November to 1 December.
Shaningwa also ordered that the slate names Team Harambee and Team Swapo be done away with with immediate effect.
She called for unity within the party.
Shaningwa also appealed to those who won positions during the sixth ordinary congress, held late last year, not to push away those who lost but to rather pull them into the party.
The extraordinary congress will amend the party's constitution, the third since independence, and the adoption of the sixth ordinary congress' report.
