Thousands gather at ZANU-PF headquarters for Mnangagwa’s arrival

Thousands of Zimbabweans gathered at Zanu-PF headquarters on Wednesday afternoon waiting for the arrival of their incoming president Emerson Mnangagwa.
Mnangagwa, who was recently endorsed by the party’s central committee as the leader of ZANU-PF was expected to return to Zimbabwe on Wednesday or Thursday.
He’ll then take the oath of office and become president after Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe has resigned after 37 years in power.
The 75-year-old, believed to have been in South Africa during a week of turmoil after the army took over and subjected Mugabe to house arrest, was fired by Mugabe two weeks ago.
The state broadcaster announced earlier today that he has arrived back in the country.
