Toddler drowns in bucket of water

A toddler drowned in a bucket of water at Onambulanga village in the Omusati Region’s Onesi Constituency on Sunday.
Warrant Officer Anna Kunga of the Namibian Police Force's (NamPol) Community Affairs office in the region told NAMPA on Monday the girl, aged one year and three months, was identified as Kaheva Fernandu from Angola.
“The baby was left alone in the house while the parents went to the field to cultivate and when one of the parents came back later, they found the child had drowned in the bucket of water,” she said.
Kunga said the bucket was left next to a tap.
“The next of kin are informed and the police at Onesi have opened a case of drowning in connection with the incident,” she said.
