Transport services overcharge customers as state of emergency regulations limit capacity

The regulation dealing with vehicles loading only 50% of their total carrying capacity has had a negative impact on the public transport sector, after steep price hikes were introduced by operators, as a result of the measure.
Some prices have gone up by N$600 per month, and employees using fixed transport from Rehoboth to Windhoek say they cannot afford the increase to reach their workplaces in the capital.
