Tribute to trade unionist and war veteran Peter Iilonga

Peter Ekanda Iilonga was born in 1947 in Etilyasa in the Omusati Region.
His political career started in 1973 when at the age of 26 he went into exile where he received military training.
Mutsegwateka, which can loosely be translated as "Broken Head" returned home in 1974 to a cesspool created by the South African apartheid regime.
In 1978 he was captured and detained on Robben Island. He was released seven years later.
