ZANU-PF takes an early lead

Justice Priscilla Chigumba, Chairperson of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC), today announced the results of seven constituencies of which ZANU-PF received six National Assembly seats and MDC Alliance one.
Judge Chigumba says the commission has received results of a considerable amount of polling stations and will announce these throughout.
Presidential results will only be announced when collation has been done on a national level.
Hundreds of MDC Alliance supporters have converged in front of the alliance headquarters.
Reacting to the announcement, ordinary Zimbabweans say the results seem exaggerated and ZEC should've waited to have enough results to make an impact.
Saziwe Marubezi and Elias say they are here because they know their party has won the elections. They want SADC to intervene should results be a repeat of last time.
They say this event is done to encourage their members not to lose hope after the announcement which they say is done to discourage their members.
The observer missions in the country will host a joint press briefing on Wednesday.
