Zimbabweans pour into streets to celebrate Mugabe’s resignation

Robert Mugabe resigned as president of Zimbabwe Tuesday.
The 93-year-old finally buckled under pressure from both ruling party ZANU-PF, who recalled him on Sunday, as well as the military who took over last week and put him under house arrest.
His 37-year reign came to an abrupt end when the parliament speaker to a special joint session of the assembly, which had convened to impeach Mugabe, announced the resignation.
The announcement was greeted by thousands of singing and celebrating Zimbabweans in the streets of the capital Harare.
