President Hage Geingob has condemned two separate bomb blasts that occurred on Saturday in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, and in Ethiopia.
Both attacks took place during political rallies where Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa, and the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, respectively, addressed the crowd.
Two people were confirmed dead in the Ethiopia attack.
Namibia’s head of state called for calm and respect for the rule of law adding that political violence would not be tolerated.
He says the only legitimate path towards forming a Government in the African Union is by winning peaceful, free and fair elections.
He thus called for this process to be respected in Zimbabwe, where elections are due on 30 July.
The President expressed his condolences to those who lost loved ones in Addis Ababa and wished the injured in both attacks a speedy recovery.
