Rukavango



Started with her broadcasting on the 13 December 1976(still to be confirm) the service underwent numerous changes as per NBC mandate to inform entertain and educate the listeners now to inspire the growing nation. Its current slogan is Radio Mutima wetu (Radio our heart). The station is now located in the Kavango East region in the fast growing town of Rundu on the Bank of the Kavango river.

Rukavango Radio service broadcast mainly in 3 man local languages, Rukwangali, Rumanyo/Rugciriku and Thimbukushu starting from 06h00 to 21h00 and anticipate to improve due to listeners demands as we intended to increase the broadcasting hours especially in the evening with more entertainments.
Coverage areas has improved the past years especially after independence since 1990 as NBC radio services has gone multimedia and have about 150 thousand listeners.

Popular program includes the morning slot Pinduka, PSA, Actuality programs the recent revamp youth Magazine program, Community hours and Open line program. Within the ever changing dynamic broadcasting station Rukavango remain the source of information to both rural and urban listeners on different socio economic environments.
