Etameko Cycling club to reach Oshana & Kharas

The Etameko Cycling Club has plans to extend its operations to Oshana and Karas regions.
The club, which aims to promote cycling at grassroots level, was established in 2018 by Ebben Iita and Jacob Kiyola, who are also the founders of the Namibian Cleaning Chemical Solutions Cycling Club.
They work hand in hand with the NCCS Pro Cycling Club and are involved in competitive and non-competitive Cycling activities.
Currently, the club has more than a hundred members, who are based in Windhoek.
They also cater for children from six years of age and have no other age limits for those willing to learn how to cycle.
While they have been based in the capital, Kiyola explained the need to extend their activities to other regions.
“We have representatives in the north, but nothing is currently happening there. Everything is happening in Windhoek, because of the COVID issue. We are busy identifying people that can represent us in the south, because there is low representation in cycling there” Kiyola said.
He added that the main objective is to develop cyclists where they are and train them in road and off-road cycling.
The club recently became the seventh member of the Namibia Cycling Federation.
