Former under 20 Rugby coach accused on 3 counts

Well-known Namibian Senior and Junior National rugby coach Roger Thompson made his first appearance in court on Tuesday as he stands accused on three counts.
The former national player and coach appeared before Magistrate Selma Amadhila in the Windhoek High Court.
Among other charges, he is accused of house breaking with the intent to steal.
It is alleged that he also used a vehicle without the owner’s consent and finally drove a vehicle without the owner’s consent.
Thompson, who was up until recently an employee of Namibia Rugby Limited, remains in custody, with the case having been postponed until the 10th of May this year for further investigations to take place.
Thompson, who will be requiring the services of a private lawyer, can still formally apply for bail. Until then, however, things remain as they are.
