The Namibian fitness icon Nangado Kauluma is the recipient of an African Entrepreneurship Award in the sports category, which she received earlier this week in Casablanca, Morocco.

Nangado Kauluma walked away as the winner in the sports category, which consisted of nine finalists from eight countries across Africa - each participating with their respective sports businesses.

The selection for the African Entrepreneurship Awards worked as follows: a jury selected 13 winners from 11 countries across Africa, but before that, a Boot Camp of 30 entrepreneurs from across Africa received expert mentoring from coaches after which the jury panel then listened to business pitches and selected winners from all 5 economic zones in Africa.

Eight men and five women then shared the US$1 million prize, and all of the 30 Boot Camp entrepreneurs won mentoring to improve their business ideas.

There was a total of three top winners in the Sport catagory with Kauluma taking the grand prize, a staggering US$ 150 000. Each of the other two finalist received a cash prize of US$ 75 000.

Pulse PerfectFit studio is the business Kauluma won the award for. Apart from her studio in the Old Breweries Complex, in central Windhoek,

PerfectFit also has both a Website and App available, keeping members and the community in touch with one another.

Kauluma, however, is not just the founder and director of Pulse PerfectFit studio but also has a Science Bachelor in Exercise and Health Science from the University of Massachusetts.
