NASA final preparations well on track-Mwiya

The Chief Administrator of the Namibia Sport Commission, Freddy Mwiya, says final preparations for this weekend's Namibia Annual Sports Awards are well on track.
Saturday, the 26th of October is the date scheduled for the NASA Awards, which are set to take place at the Ondangwa Industrial and Trade Expo Hall.
This will be the second time the NASA Awards will be held in a place other than Windhoek after Swakopmund hosted it last year.
NSC Chief Administrator Freddy Mwiya is confident that they will put on a great show and that logistics are well in its final phase.
"In terms of the arrangements we are ready. As I speak this time my team they are already on the ground, they travelled yesterday and which I will also be joining them on Wednesday and starting from Wednesday they would be having activations within the three towns of the Northern area and Thursday activations, Friday activations and come Saturday morning we having a parade and in the evening the main event" Mwiya said.
A total of 17 categories have been included in this year's NASA Awards and all the shortlisted nominees are expected to arrive in Ondangwa on Friday, with the Namibia Sports Commission taking care of transport and accommodation arrangements for the nominees.
Mwiya said those who have been nominated are already winners and should be appreciated, as it isn't all about winning.
"Sports Awards is not necessarily about winning an award but it's also for the masses to talk about the case for sport. Like imagine now we were at the coast last year at least we could actually go to the masses. Now we are in the North, also at the masses that people could also appreciate that indeed when we talk about sport that sport is not only meant for central region" he said.
The NASA Awards might return to Windhoek next year, while the possibility of taking it to another town also cannot be ruled out at this point in time.
