Para-Athletes receive donation

The Namibian Paralympics Team that will participate in the Rio Olympics in September has received a hefty donation from Miss Namibia 2015, Steffi Van Wyk.

Van Wyk handed over a cheque worth N$ 70 000 to the Namibia Paralympics Committee today to help with the preparation of the para-athletes who will travel to Brazil next month.

The former Miss Namibia says she believes in the para-athletes and is convinced that they will make Namibia proud.

The donation stems from a fundraising dinner Van Wyk hosted recently for the Para-Athletes.

The Namibia Paralympics Committee thanked Van Wyk for her support and promised that the athletes will do their best to return with medals and fill Namibians with pride.
