U/ 17 Cricket team prepare for World cup qualifiers

Windhoek- Namibia's Under-17 cricket team are preparing for the under-19 World Cup Qualifiers 2019, as well as for local matches - ahead of the start of the season, in September this year.
This being this year's first Cricket camp, the team's managers and coaches are focusing on assessments, talent scouting, fitness and the overall health of each player, to ensure a proper selection for the final team.
John also mentions that the Cricket Camp is not restricted to any age group, as younger players can pick up skills from the bigger age groups, while this also improves numbers and ups the mood among players.
At the same event NBC Sport caught up with two young girls' beginners, who were joining the camp for the first time, training for the love of cricket.
“The expectation is first to check the conditions of our player to prepare them properly to play on international level and local matches before the season starts in September and this is our preparation” said Valerie Krugell
“There is an outside possibility that we will be hosting four cricket academy matches from South Africa in Namibia the first week of July during the South African school holidays” Zane Etsebeth said .
Operation Manager John Heynes spoke about the expectations and readiness of the team.
“It's actually really fun I enjoy it because some of them help you and you can look at them and see what you must do if you struggling” said Heynes.
Ideally twelve months is required for preparation, but due to the timing and preparations of matches this will be difficult.
